Texas red chili for the ICS must be cooked without beans or pasta. This is the chili recipe I use for the judges at chili cookoffs. This is Texas chilli recipe was used for The DC 101 Chili Cook Off for 2011. This chili features homemade chili powder. This video will show you how to make a winning pot of chili. Good recipes for chili are all over the web but this is the way to win any local chili cook off. There are no beans in this recipe. Just start out with good beef is the key to this recipe. Slow cook this chili and you will love it. This is a great recipe and is easy to make. Here is the list of ingredients you will need to make great Texas Red Chili:

  • 2 pounds Beef Tender Loin or Chuck Beef
  • 3 Tablespoons Homemade Chili Powder
  • 2 Chooped Jalapeno Peppers
  • 3 Hatch Chilies
  • 1 1/2 cups Beef Broth
  • 1 can of Tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 1 can Tomato Paste 7 oz
  • 1 can of Mexican Beer
  • 1/4 cup Flour
  • Cooking Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Cumin
  • 1 Tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 pack Sazon Goya
  • 1 Large Whit Onions
  • 3 Cloves Garlic Minced

Cooking instructions for Red Chili recipe

Take your Chuck Beef or Beef Tender Loin and cut into 1 “cubes. Flour the Beef and then in a large pot brown off the floured Beef Tenderloin in Cooking Oil. Deglaze the browned Chili Meat with 12 oz. of Mexican beer. Add 3 tablespoons Homemade Chili Powder Cumin, garlic, onion, pack Sazon Goya, Paprika. The next step in making the Red Chili is to add the 14.5oz. Can of tomatoes, 1 1/2 cups beef broth, 2 chopped Jalapeno peppers , 3 Hatch Chilies, 1 Habanera chili, and can of Tomato paste. Cook on low heat for 3 hours. Then be ready for some of the best Texas Chili you can imagine. The Bald Chef has used this recipe in the Washington DC 101 chili cook off.
