A New Jersey judge ruled on Tuesday that the Canadian-born senator meets the qualifications to run in the New Jersey primary in June.

“The more persuasive legal analysis is that such a child, born of a citizen-father, citizen-mother, or both, is indeed a ‘natural born citizen,'” The judge said in his ruling.

As Cruz has come closer to potentially becoming the Republican nominee, a growing number of legal experts have questions his eligibility to run for president.

In this case, a group of New Jersey residents contested Cruz’s candidacy — arguing that he was born in Canada to an American mother and Cuban father, he’s ineligible to run for president.
