Last year Veterinarian Kristen Lindsey posted a shocking photo to her Facebook page stating, “My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it’s (sic) head! Vet of the year award… gladly accepted.”

The caption accompanied a photo of the 33-year-old holding up a dead orange tabby cat by the arrow she shot in its head.

According to MySA.com:

The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners stated that from “April 15 to Oct. 1, 2015, the board received 700 formal complaints, written comments from all 50 states in the U.S. and 77 countries, and more than 27,000 emails about her actions.”

Lindsey was fired from her job as a veterinarian at the Washington Animal Clinic in Brenham, Texas.

The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners has suspended Lindsey’s license for a year. After the year has concluded, she will be able to resume practicing under a 4 year probationary period.

Once that period is complete, she will be fully licensed again.

Judging by the social media reaction, animal lovers in Texas are not happy with the decision.
