Tony Romo was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday and was expected to take the Cowboys podium to announce his retirement.

Those plans were cut suddenly short when he tripped over the step, twisted his back, and lay there motionless for several moments before team medics were able to help.

Romo was expected to announce his decision to join the CBS Sports broadcasting team, but those plans are on hold.

Doctors at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital estimate that Romo’s recovery time will be 10-16 weeks.

“No more retirement ceremonies for Mr. Romo.” stated Dr. Andrew Bledsoe, “It would be wise for him to avoid football stadiums altogether until he’s completely healed.”

The Dallas Cowboys released this meme on their facebook page shortly after the injury:

As you have probably gathered, this is a satirical story and is not to be taken seriously.

However, there are those who will take it seriously and to you we say, “GO COWBOYS!”.

Good luck to Dak Prescott and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys as they attempt to win the Super Bowl next year!
