SIX FLAGS REMOVES ‘OFFENSIVE’ FLAGS, WILL NO LONGER FLY TEXAS FLAG

In a reversal from a statement made barely 48 hours ago, Six Flags apparently thinks that the Texas, Spanish, French, Mexican, and Confederate flags are offensive and have decided to fly 6 American flags at every Six Flags location around the nation.

Let that sink in.

The company which was founded based on the six flags which have flown over Texas is bowing to anti-history fanatics and removing those flags which have flown over Texas.

Six Flags means literally nothing any more.

From the Austin 360 Blog:

“We always choose to focus on celebrating the things that unite us versus those that divide us,” a Six Flags spokeswoman told the paper. “As such, we have changed the flag displays in our parks to feature American flags.”

The decision was made after the park received criticism for reportedly saying that it had no plans to remove the Confederate flag in light of the recent events in Charlottesville, Va.

According to the Star-Telegram, flags are only flown at the Arlington, San Antonio and Georgia locations of the park. They will all only fly American flags from now on.

I personally find it offensive that history is offensive to the management at Six Flags.

Guess I’ll take my entertainment dollars elsewhere.
