Millions upon millions of dollars have been donated to victims of Hurricane Harvey. Now affected residents who haven’t received anything are asking just where that money is going.

Kenya Chavis posted this eye-opening video a few days ago:

But Mr. Chavis isn’t the only one asking questions about where exactly all the money is going.

ABC 13 in Houston is reporting:

The Red Cross has raised well over $200 million and has disbursed emergency funds through a new online program, according to Bruno. Harvey is the first disaster where they’ve tried this fast approach to disbursement.

“On the first day, we disbursed close to $45 million for about 100,000 of those families,” Bruno said.

However, the demand was overwhelming. The site has been down for a few days.

“We had to stop it for a little bit. We are building a little more capacity so we can get more applicants,” he said.

The site is still down as of writing this article.

Still, the number of charities and relief organizations who have raised funds for Harvey relief seem to be falling short. Landlords are still demanding rent, credit card bills are still due, the list goes on.

Hopefully these victims get the help they need… and soon.
