The Waco Symphony Orchestra performed with piano soloist Yekwon Sunwoo yesterday evening, and it was absolutely incredible.

Performing on the Baylor University campus, the Waco Symphony Orchestra is literally a jewel in the crown of Texas. It is rare for a small to medium sized city to possess the massive amount of talent that exists in Waco, and the Symphony Orchestra places that talent on international display with the ability to attract big name performers such as Yekwon Sunwoo, Renee’ Fleming, Andrea Bocelli, and others.

I was able to attend last night’s performance with my wife who is not usually impressed with music of the classical variety, however, she too, was absolutely blown away.

Here are some photos of the performance. I won’t try to caption them all as I am not familiar enough with all the symphony members to accurately caption them, but I am sure you will be able to grasp how incredible the experience was from the photos. After all, a picture says a thousand words, right?

The orchestra performed the following pieces throughout the evening:

Concerto No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 83 in Bb major – BRAHMS
Yekwan Sunwoo, soloist

Night Ride and Sunrise, Op. 83 – SIBELIUS

Concertino for Horn, Alto Trombone and Strings – M. HAYDN
Jeff Powers, Brent Phillips, soloists
